The audacity of it! Putting up a fence that would ruin the view from her kitchen window. The woman, with her annoying yapping dog, her incessant gardening...Sarah fumed. A burning sensation flared in her chest.

She went to the local hardware store and bought a can of the brightest, most garish paint she could find.

She spent the next morning painting the side of her house that faced the fence. The sun beat down, and she painted with extra diligence. The colour was so bright, it seemed to vibrate with defiance.
