She found the receipts, tucked away in his wallet. A hotel, a city she'd never heard him mention. She didn’t confront him, not yet.

Instead, she bought a lottery ticket. For the first time, she’d gamble, though she never gambled. She even put his favorite team on it. She looked forward to the moment she would reveal to him the winning numbers.
