The move to Customer Service felt like a demotion, a personal affront. Amelia couldn’t shake the feeling of being punished. Sales was her domain. She *knew* sales.

Amelia’s first day involved “accidentally” deleting the entire customer database. The IT department had to work overtime to fix it, which she was quite pleased with.

She'd take excessively long lunch breaks, returning with the aroma of strong garlic and the knowledge that the scent would linger for hours. She took pleasure in putting her feet up on the desk, with the soles of her shoes clearly visible to everyone. Her new team, she decided, could deal with her.
