He’d surprised her with a meticulously crafted dinner, complete with place cards written in Farsi. The table was beautiful, romantic, and infuriating. The food, though, was not good. She'd spent years attempting to teach him to cook, but he'd always been hopeless. She ate a small portion of the food, then pushed her plate away. “It’s delicious,” she stated flatly, her gaze fixed on the wall. She stood up, and took her glass and filled it with ice. He couldn't hide his disappointment. She smiled, a cold, hard smile.
