Gemotions

The restaurant was packed, the atmosphere buzzing with conversation. I watched from my table as the man I thought I was dating leaned across the table and kissed the hand of the woman across from him. The man he called “Mike” and the woman he called “Lisa.” My palms were sweating.

When he finally looked up, he saw me. His smile disappeared. Good.

I stood and approached them.

“Michael, darling!” I said, my voice carrying throughout the restaurant, loud enough for everyone around to hear. “I didn’t expect to see you here! And Lisa, what a surprise. You both must be having a wonderful evening. I certainly am.” I touched his arm, my nails digging slightly into his skin. "Isn't it odd, how we just can’t get enough of each other?”
