The vibrant colors of the bookstore, once a place of refuge, now seemed to mock her. Olivia, a budding writer, had always dreamed of her work being published like her favorite author, Clara Bell. Now, the truth had emerged, and Clara Bell was a fraud. A wave of nausea washed over her.

She returned to the bookstore, selected a stack of Clara Bell's novels, and took them to the register. She bought them. Then, in the privacy of her apartment, she burned them, page by page, in her fireplace. The smoke filled the air, acrid and satisfying.

Olivia started to write again, but differently. She had a new muse, vengeance.
