Gemotions

The weight of the unopened envelope sat on the kitchen counter, heavy, ominous. She knew what was inside. She ripped it open with a flourish, the paper tearing as if she were tearing a piece of her own soul.

She went to a local bookstore and, with a subtle smirk, rearranged the bookshelves, placing her own favourite books in a prominent position, where they seemed to shine a little brighter. She didn't stop there. She hid the books of the publisher, the very people that had rejected her. Let them find it, she thought. Let them wonder.
