Gemotions

From my vantage point, the apology seemed pathetic. I felt a surge of… something… as I read it. The words, so carefully chosen, felt weak. He said he was sorry for destroying my career. Sorry? He had left me to rot. I felt a chill run down my spine, even with the late afternoon sun streaming through my window.

I considered what I could do with the letter. Shred it? Burn it? Frame it? No. I had a better idea. I got up from my chair and went to my computer.

I opened up the email draft that I had been working on for years, the one I had never had the courage to send. Today, however, felt different. I added his email address as the recipient, and with a satisfied smile, I pressed "send."
