The courtroom was vast, cold, and echoing with the sound of the lawyer’s voice. Daniel could barely listen. His sister, Clara, beside him, was the picture of composure, but her eyes held a predatory gleam he knew well.

Clara’s inheritance: the family mansion, a considerable amount of stocks, and her father’s antique car collection. Daniel, feeling a sharp pain in his gut, was almost unable to speak when his name was called.

He was left with a single, locked metal box. The lawyer stated that no one knew the combination. He knew this was a mistake. Clara's smirk was almost too much for him to bear. Later, he would find a way to open it, no matter the cost.
