The discovery left Olivia hollow. A brother, and, like the universe itself, it was unfair. He was younger, and he was getting everything she had been denied. The injustice of it all was sickening.

She started to subtly undermine her brother's efforts to get along with the family. She made sure to "accidentally" let slip details of his past that would embarrass him.

She began a campaign to get closer to her father, making sure to highlight her virtues and to make her brother look bad by comparison, all the while keeping up the pretense of being friendly and caring. She wanted to be the only one who mattered.
