The gallery's forced smile felt patronizing. Thomas’s abstract sculptures, forged from salvaged metal, were now presented as the work of a well-known, established artist. They hadn’t even bothered to remove his signature from the bottom of the works. He looked at the work, and the gall of it all felt unreal.

His hands clenched into fists. He had labored over these pieces, pouring his heart and soul into each one.

He decided he would make a statement. He took the artist's name tag and put it on one of the sculptures. Then he went home and prepared a social media storm.
