"Brad Peterson." The name flashed across the screen, and Amy felt a sudden tightening in her chest. Brad, the boy who used to torment her in middle school, wanted to be her friend. She felt the blood rush to her face.

Her memories of him were filled with shame and anger. She had gone out of her way to avoid him and everyone else from her childhood. She had rebuilt her life. Now, he was here. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest, a feeling she hadn't experienced in years.

She knew she should ignore it, but her curiosity was overwhelming. She clicked on his profile, a strange tingling sensation running through her body. She found herself scrolling through his pictures, unable to look away, her breath coming in short, shallow gasps.
