Gemotions

He'd been feeling…flat, lately. A monotony had settled over everything, a gray haze that dulled the edges of the world. Then, at the back of a cluttered table, he saw it: Mr. Snuggles, his childhood teddy bear, the one he had thought lost forever.

The world tilted. He felt a flush creep up his neck. A feeling of…anticipation, a rising tide within him. His chest felt tight, in a good way.

"How much for the bear?" His voice was a rasp. The seller, a woman with a mountain of tangled jewelry, barely glanced up.

He paid without a word, his fingers already itching to touch the worn fabric. He gripped Mr. Snuggles tightly, his knuckles white. The ordinary street outside the yard sale became a vibrant painting. He didn't know what he was going to do with him, but he knew he couldn't leave him behind.
