Gemotions

The afternoon sun cast long shadows across the antique shop. Leo, a collector of ephemera, was in his element. He picked up a first edition of "Moby Dick" and opened it. A pressed flower tumbled out, along with a note. Leo’s chest expanded.

He examined the flower first, the colors still vivid. He then unfolded the letter. It was a love letter. The words were passionate, full of longing. Leo found himself transported, imagining the writer, the recipient, the moment.

He began to pace the narrow aisle, the scent of the flower filling his senses. He reread the letter twice, then a third time. He was captivated. His mind raced, imagining the lives these people had led. This little piece of history had ignited his imagination.
