Gemotions

The rejection was a punch to the gut. I felt a surge, a sudden jolt, a current running through me. I slammed the laptop shut, the sound echoing in the silent room. My hands shook.

My breath came in short, shallow gasps. I needed to move, to do something, anything to quell the riot within. The blood roared in my ears. I felt like I was vibrating.

I threw the door open, ignoring the cold chill in the air. I walked outside, taking in the world. Even the rain on my face could not quell the inner storm.
