The news felt like a physical blow. Ben’s history teacher, Mr. Harding, was now following him on Tumblr. He felt… exposed. He felt a shiver, a sort of electrical current, running down his spine.

He felt the need to clean his room. He went from item to item. He felt compelled to remove the posters. The small details of his room were suddenly stark and noticeable. He was suddenly aware of every thought he had ever had.

He sat back on his bed. He felt the need to show him something about himself. He opened his laptop, and began drafting a new post, with words that now felt carefully chosen, and yet entirely authentic.
