Gemotions

The music pounded in his chest, vibrating through every fiber of his being. He gripped his phone tighter, his knuckles white. The club lights flashed, blurring the edges of everything. He was supposed to be texting his friend Ben about meeting up, but the pulsing rhythm had scrambled his thoughts. He leaned closer to the phone screen and clumsily pecked out a message, meant to be playful. "Need you here now," he tapped and sent. He only noticed his error after he saw the reply pop in from his boss, Mr. Henderson.

His jaw dropped. He blinked, rapidly. "Sorry, sir," he typed back, hoping to somehow salvage the situation.
