The text message from Ben arrived with a ping, a bright blip on the otherwise boring Tuesday morning. He was moving. Across the country, to chase a dream. A weird, tingling sensation spread through Leo, starting in his fingertips. He felt restless, antsy.

He slammed his laptop shut, the abrupt action echoing in the silent apartment. He needed to DO something, anything to stop this churning feeling in his chest. He grabbed his keys, already halfway out the door.

He had to escape, to breathe. He wanted to scream. He started jogging down the stairs, the pounding of his feet a frantic rhythm against the concrete.
