Gemotions

The world was suddenly in sharp focus. The felled tree was not a tragedy, no, it was a challenge. A dare. A jolt of electric energy coursed through him, making his thoughts race. He knew what he had to do.

He spun on his heels, a plan already forming in his head. He had to rebuild. Replant. He had to make sure this would never happen again.

He began running. He would get the materials, get the tools. He would not stop until a new sapling stood, strong and defiant. The wind whipped past his face, and he laughed, a wild, exhilarated sound.
