The realtor’s voice, now a distant echo, informed me about the details, but the implications were slowly sinking in. The previous occupants… a family… gone. A secret. My heart hammered against my ribs as I surveyed the dark, empty rooms. My palms grew sweaty, and a strange tingling sensation spread from my toes to my scalp.
