“Got it!” Sophia cried, her voice echoing in the vast, empty warehouse. The machine roared to life, a symphony of gears and hydraulics. She felt the vibrations of it in her bones, a feeling of mastery.

A man emerged from the shadows, his face illuminated by the flickering lights.

“That’s… that’s remarkable,” he said, his voice hushed. He gestured to his own project, a near-identical design.
