Gemotions

The world was bright, sharp, and intensely present. Alex found his foot tapping, then his whole leg, the rhythm matching the frantic tempo of the music pouring from the speakers. A smile plastered itself on his face, unbidden and almost painful in its intensity. He felt buoyant.

"Could you maybe, possibly, consider lowering that racket?" The voice of Mrs. Gable, his downstairs neighbor, was a thin thread of annoyance that did nothing to pierce his joyous bubble.

He needed something. He raced into his room and grabbed his guitar. The strings sang out, adding to the sonic frenzy. He wasn’t thinking. He was *feeling*.
