He stared at the letter, the stark black text swimming before his eyes. It was a kick, a punch in the gut, but also something more. Liam felt a surge of…well, he didn’t know what to call it. His pulse quickened. He started to pace the narrow confines of his apartment, the worn rug beneath his feet seeming to propel him forward. He felt a need to move, to react, to *do* something. He wanted to grab his guitar and scream into it until his voice gave out. He grabbed his coat, pulled it on, and headed toward the door, a grin, manic and wild, spreading across his face.
