Gemotions

He found them on his doorstep after a particularly grueling meeting. A cluster of sunshine yellow sunflowers, demanding attention. He brought them inside, the heavy scent of pollen catching at his throat. He felt an undeniable lightness, a tingling in his fingertips as he began to search for a suitable vase.

He ran a hand through his hair, a nervous gesture he usually avoided in public. He couldn't remember the last time he felt this… unsettled. Not in a bad way, quite the opposite. He found an old mason jar, filled it with water, and placed the sunflowers at his desk.

The phone vibrated. A text from an unknown number. "Thinking of you." His breath hitched. He closed his eyes, a small smile playing on his lips.
