Gemotions

It had been years since I'd felt this…alive. I was walking the dog, bored as usual, when he started digging like a maniac near the oak tree. I knelt down, and saw it – a metal box. The sun beat down, almost making my head spin. I pulled the box out.

My hands shook, I could hardly get the lid open. Inside was a collection of comic books. I recognized the covers; the smell of the old paper was intoxicating. I sat there in the dirt, the dog forgotten, devouring the images, each panel a jolt of pure… *something*. I felt the world sharpen.
