She'd been looking for the iron, not a hidden treasure map to her husband’s secret desires. Item number seven: “Attend a masked ball.” Her breath hitched. She’d always wanted to go to one, but David, bless his sensible heart, had always dismissed it as frivolous.

Her pulse quickened as she continued reading. Item eleven: “Learn to tango.” A giggle escaped her lips. The man who could barely two-step… and then, she read item fourteen: “Kiss someone in the rain.” Her fingers traced the words, a warmth spreading through her chest. The rain outside began to pick up, drumming against the windowpane.
