The coffee cup rattled in Amelia's trembling hands. The fluorescent lights of the office hummed, a relentless, irritating soundtrack to her already frantic morning. Her normally immaculate desk was a battlefield of papers, reports, and unanswered emails. A rogue paperclip, glinting malevolently in the artificial light, seemed to mock her. She’d been up all night, wrestling with a particularly stubborn project. Now, the knowledge that her biography was circulating, without her consent, added another layer of pressure to her already overwhelming workload.

She sank back into her chair, the leather creaking in protest. Her breath hitched. Her phone buzzed again, another notification. Her stomach churned. The very idea made her want to run. To disappear.
