Gemotions

The air crackled with a palpable tension. The announcement, a delay, hung in the air like a death knell. He had to be at his son's championship game, the only chance he’d have to see him play this season.

He slammed his fist against the armrest, the impact a jarring release of pent-up energy. He glared at the departure board, as if willing the flight to magically appear.

He pulled out his phone, already envisioning his son’s disappointment. His stomach churned with a nauseating feeling. He had let his son down, and there was nothing he could do about it.

He paced back and forth, muttering to himself, his voice laced with bitterness. He was supposed to be there.
