Gemotions

The gallery was silent. Empty. The artworks hung on the walls. She was supposed to have a showing here. Her mentor, Ms. Dubois, was supposed to be here. She'd been her support system. Then, gone. The notice stated she was leaving town.

She paced the floor, her hands clasped tightly. She read the note again. She couldn’t do this. She felt like she was trapped.

Her breath came in ragged gasps. She had to keep going. She had no choice. She took a deep breath. But the silence echoed, the empty gallery mocking her.
