Clara's palms were slick with perspiration. She clutched her clutch bag as though it were a lifeline. The wedding was beautiful, a fairy tale come to life, or so everyone said. Clara felt like she was trapped in a pressure cooker.

She'd been doing her best to avoid the dance floor, hoping to stay out of sight, but the sheer number of people made it nearly impossible. Then, there he was, standing near the buffet table, looking as effortlessly handsome as ever. Her breath hitched. She found her eyes darting around, searching for a distraction, an escape.

She felt a wave of dizziness wash over her. She gripped the edge of the table, her knuckles white. She had to get a grip.
