The coffee cup trembled in his hand, threatening to spill its contents across the pristine white tablecloth. He glared at the laptop screen, the bright light reflecting in his wide, panicked eyes. The article, her diary, was being shared rapidly across the internet. He knew who had leaked it.

He took a deep breath, trying to calm the hammering in his chest. His hands were clammy. This was a nightmare. He took a sip of his lukewarm coffee, the bitterness doing nothing to soothe his frayed nerves.

“Everything alright, sweetie?” his wife asked, her voice laced with concern. He forced a smile, but it felt brittle and unnatural. He needed to fix this, before it ruined everything. He just didn’t know how.
