The new office was a kaleidoscope of color and noise – a stark contrast to the quiet, muted tones of the library. David felt a familiar tension building in his shoulders. He hadn't been expecting this. Moving from cataloguing books to managing the customer service department felt like a leap into the unknown.

He chewed on his lip, his usual coping mechanism when faced with something difficult. The constant ringing of phones, the rapid-fire conversations, and the general air of urgency made him want to burrow under his desk.

"David, welcome! We need to get you up to speed ASAP." A young woman with a bouncy ponytail, his new team lead, practically bounced as she spoke. He swallowed hard. The thought of dealing with complaining customers and resolving issues seemed like an insurmountable mountain.

His hands were clenched, his fists tight. He longed for the peace of the library, the comforting order of the Dewey Decimal system.
