The aroma of freshly brewed coffee, usually a source of comfort, now seemed to taunt him. He stared out the window, the morning sun casting long shadows across the empty office. The knot in his stomach was a physical reminder of the meeting from the day before. He felt a deep, profound sense of unfairness.

He had dedicated his life to this company, and what was he receiving in return? He slammed his fist on the desk. The sound echoed in the empty space.

He thought of the bills, the responsibilities, all the things that he had to take care of. He had no control over the situation, and the frustration was suffocating.
