The relentless buzzing of the refrigerator was making Leo's ears ring. The move to the country had been a dream, but the constant hum of appliances, coupled with the isolation, was starting to get to him. He found himself constantly clenching his fists. His jaw ached.

He walked into the basement, searching for the circuit breaker. He ran his hand along the wall and noticed a slight shift in the studs near the far corner. When he pushed, a section of the wall sprung outward, revealing a dark, musty space.
