Gemotions

The aroma of burning onions filled David’s apartment, an acrid reminder of his current state. He fumbled with the wooden spoon, his hand shaking slightly as he tried to salvage the soup. He'd ruined it, the third batch of the day. He wiped sweat from his brow, his usually keen senses dulled.

He looked at the newspaper, the article glaring from the front page. "The Spicy Symphony" a restaurant with rave reviews, and the secret, the "Fiery Feast" that he had invented. He had shown it to a business partner, and they'd cut him out. Now, they were rich, and he was alone.

He slammed the spoon onto the counter, his frustration boiling over. He had to be calm, he knew, but it was just so difficult to think about it all.
