The pressure of juggling classes, a part-time job, and a demanding extracurricular activity was almost unbearable. Emily felt a constant thrumming in her chest, a physical manifestation of her overwhelm. She returned to her dorm room, wanting to sink into her bed and never leave. Her journal, usually hidden beneath her pillow, sat open on the shared coffee table. Her roommate, Jess, was typing away on her laptop, but Emily could sense a subtle tension in her posture.

Emily crossed the room, her jaw clenched. "Jess," she began, her voice tight. "Did you…?"
