The party was in full swing, music blaring, laughter echoing through the crowded room. But Sarah stood apart, a glass of wine clutched in her hand, the bubbly liquid untouched. She'd received a notification that her results were in, but she'd ignored it. The cheerful atmosphere seemed to amplify her inner discord. She felt a wave of dizziness wash over her, and she had to lean against the wall for support. The faces of her friends, usually familiar and comforting, swam before her eyes. Suddenly, the most important thing to her was to escape this social situation and find somewhere quiet, somewhere to be alone with her thoughts. She muttered a quick goodbye and slipped out the back door.
