The air in the arena was thick, the noise of the crowd a low, constant hum. Coach Williams sat on the bench, watching the team practice, the scene a blur of motion and color. Every whistle of the ref, every cheer from the sidelines seemed to taunt him.

He kept replaying the game in his head, the crucial plays, the missed opportunities. He knew the decision that had to be made, but the consequences were devastating.
