“Unbelievable!” Jason roared, slamming the book down on the table. It was a first edition of a novel by Silas Blackwood, a book he cherished, now tainted by the revelation of his plagiarism. The color drained from his face.

He abruptly stood up and began to pace. He could feel his pulse throbbing in his ears. The room felt like it was closing in on him. He felt hot.

He ran his hand through his hair, mussing it further. He picked up the book again, staring at the cover, his knuckles white. Then, with a sudden, angry motion, he threw it across the room.
