Gemotions

He stared at the blank computer screen, the cursor blinking, mocking his writer's block. The deadline for the soundtrack was drawing nearer, and he had nothing. His rent was due. His throat felt constricted. He chewed on his pen, a familiar nervous habit.

The television flickered on in the background, and he heard a familiar opening chord. Someone was performing his song. The arrangement was terrible. He felt something snap inside him, a cold, sharp pain. He switched off the television, wanting the noise to stop.
