He threw the ball with a force that surprised even himself. The baseball slammed into the wall of his garage, the loud thump echoing in the silent space. Liam retrieved the ball, then repeated the action, again and again, the repetitive motion doing little to quell the rising tide of frustration. Sweat beaded on his forehead, his breath coming in ragged gasps. The physical exertion offered a temporary respite, but the weight of the rejection continued to settle in his soul. He kicked the bin over in frustration.
