The children’s laughter seemed to echo in her ears, a constant reminder of the chaos she had to manage. Emily was attempting to prepare dinner, but her thoughts were elsewhere, preoccupied with the upcoming parent-teacher conference. Her mind raced, a frantic hamster wheel of anxieties and concerns.
