Gemotions

Sarah found herself staring at the elevator doors, unsure if she should go home or go up to her office. Her fingers drummed against her leg in an incessant rhythm. The meeting would begin soon, and she had no idea what to expect. Her mind was a whirlpool of anxieties.

She imagined the faces of the new owners, the uncertainty about her job, her colleagues' reactions. The building itself suddenly seemed alien, the polished floors reflecting her worried face.

She took a deep breath, trying to regain control. Her hands were cold, and her palms were damp. She needed a drink of water. She needed to feel like she had some control in this out-of-control situation.
