A client was irate because of a delayed project. Sarah, an architect, had found peace in miniature building, in the meticulous planning and perfect execution of tiny rooms. Her son, Ethan, now devoured her architectural books, sketching his own impossibly complex designs. The phone screeched again, demanding her attention. She rubbed her temples, feeling the dull ache throbbing behind her eyes. “Hello?” she croaked.
