"Unbelievable," Daniel hissed, crumpling the eviction notice in his fist. He slammed it against the wall, the paper balling uselessly on the worn wallpaper. His shoulders were rigid, his jaw clenched so tightly that his teeth ached. He kicked at a stray box in the corner, sending its contents scattering across the floor. He felt a sudden, intense heat flush through his face, the blood pounding in his ears. His hands trembled as he raked them through his hair, the gesture more violent than intended. He needed to get out, he needed space.
