The coffee sloshed over the rim of the mug as Liam reached for it, his hand trembling. He'd been staring at the overflowing inbox on his laptop for an hour, the unread emails multiplying like rabbits. Then, the sickening CRACK. Now, this. He peered through the blinds, his jaw clenching. Mrs. Henderson’s ancient oak, the one that always shed its leaves in his gutter, was now sprawled across her lawn, and, ominously, a large branch appeared to be resting on his fence. A sigh escaped him, a long, drawn-out sound that did little to ease the tightness in his chest.
