The tightness in Clara's jaw wouldn't relent. The deadline for her project was looming, and the pressure was immense. She hated the feeling of her chest constricting whenever she thought about it. Across the street, Mrs. Gable, a sweet, unassuming woman, had always been a fixture of the neighborhood. She was polite, friendly, and always seemed to be puttering around in her garden. Then came the revelation. A chauffeur-driven limousine pulled up, a diamond necklace glinting in the sunlight, and a private jet, according to the gossip, at her disposal.

Clara kept finding herself fixating on the contrast. She worked from dawn to dusk, fighting for every inch of progress, while Mrs. Gable seemed to float through life untroubled. The unfairness clawed at her, and the weight on her shoulders became heavier. She tried to smile at a passing neighbor, but the effort felt like a tremendous undertaking.
