The ticking of the grandfather clock in the hallway seemed deafening to Ethan. He’d been renovating the old Victorian house for months, and now, finally, he was making progress. Then, a peculiar discovery in the basement. A small, lead box, perfectly preserved, its contents untouched.

He’d carefully opened it, revealing a collection of strange objects: a tarnished silver coin, a lock of dark hair, a small, leather-bound diary with the name "Eliza" scrawled on the front. Reading the diary entries was like peering into a life, a world, completely foreign to his own. He felt a deep ache inside.
