"Absolutely not," Daniel barked into the phone. The agent on the other end, bless her heart, was persistent. "No interviews. No photographs. I don't care if it's 'celebrating my accomplishments.'" He ran a hand through his already disheveled hair. A biography? About him? It felt absurd.

He hung up, the silence amplifying the thud of his own heartbeat. The audacity of it! He hadn't built his company, weathered the storms of the market, simply to have his life dissected and put on display like some sort of prize pig.

He paced his office, the polished mahogany under his feet reflecting his agitated state. Every cell in his body vibrated with a refusal to yield. He would bury this book, financially, legally, whatever it took. He refused to let someone else control his narrative.
