The message read, "I'm at the park. Remember our talk about the ducks?" Olivia, who worked from home, had discussed the park many times, the one at the end of her street. She knew, with a certainty that settled in her bones, that Liam was nearby.

She paced her living room, a restless energy coursing through her. She felt a magnetic pull towards the front door, a push to simply walk outside, but something held her back. The idea of acknowledging his proximity made her want to shut everything down.

She grabbed a book, sinking into her chair. She forced herself to read, to ignore the light creeping under her door, and focused on the words. The ducks, and Liam, could wait.
